Growing Up in Sri Lanka

Born and raised in the lush landscapes of Sri Lanka, I was surrounded by an abundance of natural beauty and diverse culinary influences. My childhood memories are filled with the aroma of spices wafting through our home as my family gathered around the table to share delicious meals. Cooking was not just a necessity; it was a cherished tradition that brought us together, connecting us to our roots and each other.

Discovering My Passion

As I grew older, I realized that food is a universal language that transcends borders and unites people. My passion for cooking led me to explore various culinary styles in different cities and lands, but it was the unique flavors and techniques of Sri Lankan cuisine that truly captivated my heart. Chaminda leads our culinary experiences, celebrating the vibrant flavors and rich heritage of Sri Lankan cuisine.

As a chef, hospitality expert, and community advocate, Chaminda has made a significant impact on Canada’s culinary scene. As executive chef at the REAL District in Regina, he champions local ingredients and sustainable practices, crafting acclaimed Sri Lankan and fusion dishes.

Born in Kandy, Sri Lanka, with experience in Dubai and Canada, Chaminda blends his roots with global influences to create unforgettable dining experiences.

Beyond his role as a chef, Chaminda offers consulting services, including menu development, culinary training, and hospitality consulting, while mentoring staff in Sri Lankan hospitality.

BANDULA DE SILVA

Tourism Industry Veteran

Bandula De Silva brings over 40 years of experience in both in-bound and out-bound tourism, making him a respected figure in the global travel industry.

His career has taken him across more than 33 countries, including the USA, Canada, the UK, Europe, Australia, China, Vietnam, and Kenya.

As an ambassador of Sri Lanka, Bandula has represented the country's beauty and culture at major global travel events such as the World Travel Market (WTM) in London and ITB in Berlin.

Bandula is now working with Chef Chaminda Ambagaspitiya on a culinary safari experience, combining Sri Lanka's rich culture with world-class cuisine.
